Nursery

I can't wait til I start feeling better so we can start on the lil' peanuts nursery. I was looking to get a custom made crib bedding set because I knew what I wanted and I wasn't able to find it... Today I found a set I LOVE!! I am ordering it as soon as I get home from work and I am going to save over $300 what I was going to spend on the custom bedding. Yay!!

There will be a brown accent wall in the nursery and all the other walls will be the pretty green (light turquoise color). I am also getting the valence for the window and the diaper stacker. My dad is super excited to start painting, so I need to get the bedding ordered so we can buy paint colors that match the bedding perfectly =)

As soon as I start feeling better I am going to go to Spokane to start looking at nursery furniture. We are definitely going to get espresso colored wood to match our decor =)

My 2nd trimester is going to begin on Sunday! I better start feeling better! I now have a little baby bump =) Bren went out and got me some oil I have heard great things about. Its called Mothers special blend, I am praying it helps prevent stretch marks =)Incase any expecting moms looking at my blog are interested I'll post a picture below.

Daddy's First Post

My poor wife is sick, so I am going to share the Ultrasound picture with everyone. I am going to attempt to update the blog with a picture of today's Ultrasound (mommy is 10 weeks 4 days along). First, let me tell you how amazing it was being in the room while Chelsi was getting the Ultrasound done. It really was breathtaking when I saw my little P-Nut waving it's arms and kicking it's legs, although it is only about two inches long and the legs and arms are sooo tiny, I got to watch my baby moving around and it almost made me cry. We got to hear the baby's heart beating and it was also amazing, It was beating soooo incredibly strong, at 167 beats per minute with the normal heartbeat being anywhere between 130-170. In the picture below you can see the baby with it's legs in the air between kicks.

Thanksgiving!!!

Bren and I were counting down the days until Thanksgiving, we couldn't wait to tell everyone our exciting news! It was so hard to keep my pregnancy a secret, but we did it =) We mailed out photo greeting cards to all Bren's family on the east coast, I love how they turned out. Eventually Ill try to scan one onto the computer so I can put it on here, but right now I have no energy at all. I have been so sick =( People keep telling me it will get better in the 2nd trimester, I sure hope they are right! Anyways, back to Thanksgiving... everyone was so excited to hear our news! My grandma Sandy even jumped up and down when she found out, it was so cute! I know our lil' peanut is going to be so so so loved! Bren got to eat all the yummmmy Thanksgiving food, unfortunately I only got 3 rolls and a couple bites of green bean casserole. Even though I was feeling terrible, it was so nice to be around family and friends who were congratulating us all day long! I'll try to be better with updating my blog.... but when I get home from work all I want to do is go to bed =(

Special delivery from Auntie Beth

I was so surprised when I got home from work and had a box from New Jersey waiting for me. My wonderful friend Beth bought our lil' peanut his/her first castle complete with a knight, princess, and dragon! It is the cutest toy I have ever seen, I know our baby is going to love playing with it =) Thanks Beth!!

Love at first sight

Today I got to see my little peanut for the first time!!! The baby really does look like a little peanut lol =) I am 7 weeks 4 days pregnant today, the baby is 1 cm long and about the size of a kidney bean. Who would think something so dang small could make me feel so icky?! The baby has a heart rate of 130 which is great. I didn't get to hear the heartbeat, but I did get to see it beating (it looks like its fluttering it beats so fast!). My next appointment is in 4 weeks and at that appointment I will get to hear the heart beating!!!

Morning sickness =(

Ahhhhh I thought maybe I would be lucky enough to experience NO morning sickness, sadly I think I experienced my first whole day of sickness today =( No throwing up yet, just very very nauseous. I made it to Week 6 day 4 with nothing... I am praying this sick feeling will only last a few days instead of the whole first trimester. My mom was so sick when pregnant with me that she couldn't get off the couch, I need to work so I am praying I don't ever get as sick as she was. It isn't fun working when you feel so sick, lucky for me I have a wonderful husband who brought be saltine crackers to work which actually helped a little. =)

Pottery and sour patch kids

Tonight was a fun night =) My mom and I went over to Amanda's future mother in laws house for a pottery painting party. Juliana also fed us pizza which really hit the spot. My mom painted a piggy bank for my little peanut, she painted it turquoise with brown poka dots. The nursery is going to be turquoise and brown so it will match perfectly! The people at the party don't know I am pregnant yet so my mom told them she was painting it for Kolter. I also painted something, but I can't say what I painted on here cause it is a gift for someone =)Below is the piggy bank before my mom painted it... I will post a picture of the finished project once it gets fired.

So far I haven't really experienced many pregnancy symptoms. I have been super tired ( to the point I almost fell asleep today and yesterday at work) and I also now have an increased sensitivity of smells. Thank goodness I have not experienced any morning sickness yet, YAY! Tonight I think I may have experienced my first craving.... SOUR PATCH KIDS!? What kind of craving is that? lol The only time I ever eat sour patch kids is when I am at the movie theater =) My wonderful husband and dad went to the store and got me 2 big bags =) I guess only time will tell what other cravings I will have....

1st meeting with the doctor

Bright and early this morning ( 8am on a Saturday to be exact :) lol) Bren and I went in for our first meeting with Dr. Bowden who will be taking care of me during my whole pregnancy. She is a very interesting Lady, but super nice. The appointment lasted 2.5 hours. We had to give the nurse Melissa all our family medical history and we had to answer what seemed like a million questions about ourselves. After all the talking the fun began..... NOT! They drew about 5 vials of blood to test and I had to have a pelvic exam. It wasn't the most fun Saturday morning I have ever had, but it was great to learn that so far at 5weeks and 6 days everything looks perfect! We just need to wait for the blood tests to all come back and then I will be getting a call to go over the results. My next appointment is going to be in a little less then 2 weeks, I am going to have my first ultrasound!! Bren and I are so excited. I have still been having some cramping so we want to make sure the baby is in a good spot in the uterus before we tell everyone the great news of my pregnancy.

Peanuts 1st soccer ball

Tonight we went out to my parents house and Bren cooked us yummmmy steak for dinner. I always love spending time with my mom and dad. My parents had a cute baby bag waiting for Bren and I, it was the first gift we have received for our little peanut. It is the cutest ever baby's 1st soccer ball, its soft and has a rattle inside it. We love it!!! Boy or girl, we pray our child will play soccer =) If we have a boy, he better be good with a name like Beckham Spencer. lol

Take one day at a time....

Today was a hard day... I know I will have my good days and my bad days and today was not a good one. =( I had cramps all day today at work and when I got home I realized I was spotting. Of course the tears started flowing... It really makes me question faith. I don't understand why God took my bestfriend and I won't understand if I miscarry either, I am just going to keep praying that everything is ok. I pray Tara is protecting my little baby and making sure everything is ok inside my belly. I have a doctors appointment this Saturday. I will probably be a wreck until I find out everything is normal. Tonight was also our first night attending a church small group called starting points. I think it will help to tell others what I am going through, but tonight it was hard. Maybe next week I will be able to share more. I know I need to focus on just taking one day at a time.

Mommy's Belly.... oh and Daddy's too!

What better to do on a Tuesday night then to take pictures of mommy's belly? Of course we need the infamous before belly shots;) I figured I would mix it up a little and get a shot of daddy's belly too. When my mom was preganant with me 24 years ago my dad gained lots of weight because my mom would crave random junk food and then not eat it, my dad didn't want it to go to waste so he had no choice but to eat it. lol :) I guess we will see how my pregnancy cravings play out.... and we will keep an eye on daddy's belly too. Below are belly photos at 5 weeks and 2 days.

Teenie Tiny Heart

My sister got me the most wonderful wedding gift ever! A pregnancy journal =) Even though we weren't preganant yet, my sister was sending positive baby vibes our way! I love love love the journal, everyday I get to read how my baby is changing in my belly. Before I left for work this morning I read todays blurg in my pregnany journal just like I have done every single morning since the day I found out we were expecting. Today is week 5 day 2 and guess what happened today according to the journal?! My little babies heart started to beat, maybe I should also tell you that right now my baby is only a little bigger than a seasame seed within a grape sized amniotic sac. How amazing is that? That such a teenie tiny heart has already began to beat inside our little peanut.

Tara Ann Tuchon

If we have a baby girl her name will be Lolanna Tara Noelle.
In memory of Tara Ann Tuchon. She was the most wonderful best friend. This world will not be the same without her in it.
I will ALWAYS love you Tara.

My 1st ever blog post =)

I am so excited to be starting this blog.... because I always said I would start a blog when I found out I was pregnant =) I took the POSITIVE pregnancy test on October 20th, just two days after my best friend of 10 years Tara Tuchon was killed in a motorcycle accident. It was a complete mixture of happiness and sadness when I saw the plus sign appear. I cried and cried some more. I wanted to call Tara... but I couldn't. I know she was the 1st to know anyways because she could look down from heaven. My sister was the 1st person I called to tell, she was so excited! I wanted to tell my husband and parents in a more "special" way. For my husband I went out and bought him a new book for a daddy to be, I put it in a gift bag and gave it to him when he got home from hunting. He bawled, he was so so so so happy. He kissed my belly and hugged me forever! Brendan was dying to tell someone the news so he went on Skype and told my brother Spencer, he is super excited to be an uncle. I bought my parents 5 little baby books and put them in a gift bag and my husband and I brought the bag out to my parents house and told them we had a present for them. They are so excited to be Papa and Mima or Mema (My mom is too young to be called grandma). It was a great day! We decided to hold off on telling Brendan's family the news or our friends. We plan on waiting until Thanksgiving to tell everyone so I will be a little further along. We are so ready to start this pregnancy adventure! Through all the tears I have cried for Tara the thought of the little baby that is growing in my belly gives me something to smile about =) I am due June 28th. 5 weeks and 1 day preganant today.
